School Archivist Shares History with Middle School Students

School archivist Mary Crotty was recently the featured guest at a Middle School morning chapel meeting.

Through an artfully crafted presentation, she took students through the history of World War II, shared stories about what life at Hawken was like during that time, and highlighted each Hawken alumnus who died in that war defending our country.

Ms. Crotty’s presentation underscored an important reason why we ask students to show reverence and respect for the beautiful chapel space, as each of the boys who gave their lives is honored in a memorial displayed on the chapel wall.
