Bea Hardacre '24
Over the past weekend at the Hawken Invite, Bea Hardacre '24 was playing second singles against Claire Martens from Brecksville and lost the first set 4-6. She then fought back and won the second set 6-4, all the while the team had split the overall match 2-2, having lost 1st and 3rd singles and winning both doubles. Therefore the win as a team was in her hands. Hardacre had a 5-2 lead in the third set but Brecksville made a run of 3 games and under the cover of darkness, Hardacre won 7-5 in over three hours, which caused blisters and a high calf muscle strain, but it didn’t matter she clinched the win against Brecksville for Hawken.
Yesterday at sectionals Hardacre, along with her doubles partner Anjali Jawa '24 qualified for the State Districts tournament.
