The Hawken Girls Cross Country team traveled to Walsh Jesuit to compete in the Pat Ritchie Cross Country Invitational.  The girls competed well in the rain and on the muddy double loop course to finish second behind Warren Howland 75 to 78 points. The field included 5 state ranked teams from either Division 2 or 3.  Ella Gilson '21 won her third invitational title of the season completing the 3.1 mile course in 18:46.  Juliana Metz '21 finished second in 19:51 and Julia Newman '20 was in 5th place.  The Hawks scoring was rounded out with Lena Sylvan '21 and Julia Johnson '20 in 31st and 39th place.  Click here for complete meet results.

Despite the rain and poor course conditions, 4 runners ran a season best time.  Olivia Hall '22, Abby Lipold '22, Adele Metres '20 and Lena Sylvan competed the 5km with improvements ranging from 41 seconds to more than four minutes!

The Hawks entered this week ranked #12 in the weekly Division 2 State Cross Country Coach's Poll.  The ladies will next compete on September 22nd when they travel to Centerville, Ohio to compete in the Saturday Night Lights Invitational.
