Seniors Awarded Diplomas at Commencement

Severance Hall provided the majestic setting on Sunday, June 4 for the Commencement ceremony that marked the culmination of high school for seniors at Hawken School.

Two students, Samuel Linden Smith Bowen and Abhiram Chundru, were chosen by the senior class to address their classmates during the ceremony, and Yian Shang gave the Phi Beta Kappa address. Performing Arts teacher Jodie Ricci was also chosen by students to address the graduating class.

The 139 Hawken graduates will attend 79 different colleges and universities across 25 states, Washington D.C., and two foreign countries. Fifty-eight percent were offered scholarships totaling nearly $12 million.
