Power of the Pen Prevails; Sends Writers to State Competition
Advisor/coach Mrs. Laura Staufer reports that the Middle School Power of the Pen writing team competed against 32 other schools in the regional writing competition on April 4th. Seventh grade contestants were Anna Du, Lena Goren, Sophie Kerman, Efae Nicholson, and Sarah Stark. Eighth grade contestants were Liam Oznowich and Laura Young.Sarah Stark earned an individual medal for 15th place, Sophie Kerman earned an individual medal for 11th place, and the seventh-grade team won second place overall! All contestants earned honors status and ribbons for their total points earned from three rounds of writing. Best of luck to those qualifying for the state competition: Sophie, Efae, Sarah and Anna!
