Spanish Serenade

Dmart
Like most five-year-olds, Mrs. Holtz` students love to sing, but unlike most American kids, they also love to sing in Spanish. One of their favorite tunes is "Los Pollitos," a traditional Hispanic children`s song, translated as "The Chicks." Accompanied by a charming dance, the song puts fun into learning language and culture. Below are the lyrics of the song in Spanish, and with an English translation. Click here to see and hear "Los Pollitos" as performed by Hawken kindergarteners. Translation: The little chicks say Pio, pio, pio When they are hungry When they are cold. The hen looks for Corn and wheat She gives them food And gives them warmth. Under her two wings Cuddling Until next day The little chicks sleep.
