John Byrne

Senior Football

Hawken athletics gives every student the opportunity to pursue pretty much any sport they are even remotely interested in.

John Byrne, senior leader and varsity quarterback for the Hawken football team had a very solid outing in Hawken’s matchup with Brooklyn High School. In his first season playing since freshman year Byrne has seen relative success despite the lack of experience and tough schedule. In the game, he completed 5 attempts for 58 yards and rushed for 104 yards in 19 attempts for two touchdowns.  Coach Stephenson states on John’s performance “His yardage kept many drives alive while giving us a chance to win during the final minute of the game.”
