Technology

By the middle grades, students begin to coordinate the different components of their academic lives. They are developing a deeper awareness of themselves as learners and the types of tools available to optimize learning. Because we teach organizational as well as specific technological skills, our Middle School technology program assumes a more uniform approach. Every Middle School student uses a Lenovo tablet computer which travels to and from home. This is also the right time to dive more deeply into specific models of technology use as students are ready to work more holistically. They are learning methods for acquiring knowledge that transcend and integrate specific subject areas. As a result, students at this level are steeped in the use of tablet computers, Microsoft OneNote, Canvas, and other Learning Management Systems.
