Hawken School is seeking a professional, thoughtful and caring individuals interested in working part-time approximately 25-30 hours per week, in our Toddler Class (18 months-3 years) for the remainder of this school year. Hours would fall within the range of noon-6pm four days a week and 3:30-6pm one day a week. Candidates should be eager to work in a collaborative team-based environment with thoughtful individuals committed to doing school better.
- Assist a co-teaching team in caring for students’ needs including diapering, feeding, nurturing, and supervising outdoor play
- Prepare materials and clean-up on a daily basis
- Keep accurate daily records of students’ care
- Support teachers in various ways throughout the day

An associate degree in Early Childhood Education and/or previous experience in a toddler classroom are required. Experience in a Reggio-inspired classroom is preferred. In addition, we seek candidates with:

- Joyful enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, good humor, and a team spirit necessary for working within a dynamic department serving toddlers individually and in groups

Founded on the ideal that “the better self shall prevail, and each generation introduce its successor to a higher plane of life,” Hawken School is a coeducational independent day school with over 1,400 students serving toddlers through grade 12. Hawken’s three campuses within 25 minutes of downtown Cleveland, an urban extension center, and a new high school in the city’s museum district provide students with five campuses in total, offering a demanding and integrated course of study in a diverse and dynamic environment.
