Student Artwork to be Displayed at Cleveland Gallery

For the past two years, the 7th Grade Arts & Education Service Group, led by teachers Laura Barkett and Anna Delia, has partnered with The Rainey Institute to provide music, art, dance, and theater experiences to Cleveland preschool students.
One of their art projects, “Hopes and Dreams,” will be featured at the SPACES Gallery Exhibit in Cleveland. For this project, Hawken 7th graders trace the younger children’s body outlines on large paper; then together they decorate the body shape with the young students’ hopes, dreams, loves, and goals. The final product is an artful vision of what these young learners hope to be.

The exhibit opens at SPACES Gallery, 2220 Superior Viaduct in Cleveland on Saturday, April 23 from 3 – 5 pm; other show hours are Sunday April 24, noon – 5 and Tuesday April 26 & Wednesday, April 27 from noon – 5. Featured artists from the Class of 2021 include Fisher Allyn, Madison Blake, Ben Cohen, Molly Dulay, Ana Karen Garcia Torres, Claire Genovese, Katie Hausammann, Ryan McMullen, David Ricci, Rachael Slotta, Kynnedy Smith, Lizzie Smith, Max Spilman, and Lucy Watson.
