In preparation for Hawken’s Centennial celebration in 2015, Hawken’s Marketing and Development Offices collaborated with Communications Exhibits, Inc. in Canal Fulton, where Ann Conkle ’78 then served as executive vice president to create a series of “decade displays” to document Hawken’s rich history. Each display contained memorabilia, photographs, and other historical treasures retrieved from Hawken’s archives, and each display in the series was unveiled in succession beginning in October of 2014. The entire collection of decade displays was presented at The Party of the Century held at the Cleveland Convention Center in May of 2015.
Hawken Athletics is thrilled to announce the opening of the McAfee Sports Medicine Clinic. Made possible through the generous gift of Hawken alumnus Alexander “Sandy” McAfee ’42, this new construction represents Phase II of the Kleinman Wellness Center and will provide significantly expanded space for preventative and rehabilitation work, and the treatment of injuries. The sports medicine clinic construction project also included the conversion of Hawken’s old archives room and an adjacent locker room into two new spaces that will be used for both athletics teams and Human Performance.
