22 Seniors Recognized in National Merit Competition
Congratulations to the 22 Hawken seniors who received recognition in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program!
Hawken’s 12 semifinalists from both the Gates Mills campus and the Mastery School of Hawken (MSH) are Jonas Baird (MSH), Nihal Gummadala, Brian Gunzler, Audrianna Honda, Liyang Hu, Vaughn Keare, Giles Killpack (MSH), Ian Krouse, Arash Mahipal, Neelan Subhas, Ava Suri, and Anne Taich. Semifinalists will be notified of their advancement to the finalist level in February of 2027.
Ten additional seniors were named Commended Scholars in the National Merit Scholarship Program: Aiden Bai, Robert Ferro (MSH), Sabih Halim, Max Lin, Jamie Lintgen (MSH), Asal Mohammadi, Daniel Pang, Noah Tomkinson, Anya Ustin (MSH), and Eric Wang.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. The semifinalists represent an elite group that makes up less than one percent of high school seniors nationally and includes the highest-scoring Preliminary SAT test takers in each state.
