Hawken and Shaw Students Collaborate

Journalism students at Hawken Upper School and Shaw High School have published the first edition of the Shawken News, which "supports, and sustains student media programs in inner-city schools in Northeast Ohio through inter-community collaboration."
Kate Klonowski, head of the Urban Scholastic Media Initiative, spearheaded the partnership between Hawken and Shaw High School journalism students. “I felt bringing the students together would broaden each of their perspectives, an essential quality in being a good journalist," said Kate in a Neighborhood Voice article.
