Wrestler Seth King '14 Places at State Tournament

Seth King ’14 participated in the Ohio High School Individual State Wrestling Championships held at the Schottenstein Center of Ohio State University last weekend. A huge event, he competed in front of 13,800 fans and placed 7th, becoming the first Hawken wrestler to place at the tournament since Jeff Walton ’99 was the runner-up. Seth is only the second Hawken non-senior to place since Hugh Gettig '83 placed in 1983.

Seth finished the season with a record of 46-9 after going 3-2 in Columbus. He is now the career leader in several categories including: Season wins with 46, Career wins with 116 (and a year to go), and Season and Career team points.

Teammates Louis DeMarco '15 and Alex Stotter '14 traveled with Seth and his coaches Bob Rodriguez, Rocco Russo, and Mike Sala to Columbus. It was a great ending to a great season for the wrestling team, which is returning all Sectional placers and District qualifiers and is sure to enjoy more success in the years to come.
