Hawken Senior Aces the ACT

lvl
Ozan Cubukcu will no doubt be submitting his ACT scores for review in his college applications, even should he apply to any of the increasing number of colleges and universities who have moved towards a "test optional" policy. After all, Ozan is one of only 268 students in the entire U.S. and abroad (22 of whom are from Ohio) to achieve a perfect score on the ACT test last April. Less than one-tenth of one percent of students taking the test achieve the top composite score of 36; the average composite score for students who graduated in the Class of 2008 was 21.1. The ACT differs from the SAT in that it includes four sections: English, math, reading, and science. There is also an optional writing section that is scored separately and is not reflected in the composite score. While standardized testing is but one component of a student`s college application, a perfect score will certainly catch the eye of admission officers at the most selective colleges or universities. Congratulations, Ozan!
