Hawken to Host International Robotics Tourney in December

Hawken will host the regional tournament for the First Lego League (FLL) on Saturday, December 1, the first time in several years the event has been in the area. The FLL, is an international robotics program for students ages 9-14, and December`s regional tourney will have as participants students from Chagrin Falls to Medina. While registration is drawing to a close on Friday, September 28, the drive for volunteers is just beginning. Here`s a breakdown of the various functions of volunteers: Escort teams to judging areas Monitor practice boards answer and general questions Help with traffic Be a research, technical or teamwork judge (No experience is necessary, but those who volunteer to be judges will be asked to attend a one-hour training session held at Hawken a few week prior to the event. If he or she is unable to attend a PowerPoint presentation will be provided.) Organize and sell refreshments General coordination of volunteers (This person will need to attend two organizational meeting to provide updates.)
