Climb atop your roof. What do you see? Other homes? Parkland? The Cleveland skyline? When Brett Goulder `01 goes to his rooftop, his view is a bit different. He can see a skyline all right. But it`s not Cleveland`s or any other American city, for that matter. It`s Sydney`s, as in Syndey, Australia. Goulder went down-under last March to study economics at the University of Sydney. He had recently graduated with a marketing degree from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Beppu, Japan, and liked the idea of living abroad. \"I feel that the world is getting smaller everyday, so it`s fundamentally important to learn how to interact with people from other cultures,\" he said. He`d looked at schools in the United Kingdom, Singapore, but chose to move to Sydney, a decision he seems to think was the right one. \"I absolutely love Sydney and its surroundings.\" He even likes, well, loves, it so much that he wouldn`t mind permanently living there. That`s only if he doesn`t decide to have a family. In that case, \"I`d like my parents to be close,\" he said. Goulder`s currently pursuing a Graduate Diploma in Economics, and, after that, will move on the get his Master`s. A graduate diploma is akin to an accelerated degree, only it`s for those who want to pursue an area different from their undergraduate studies.
