Junior Honored for Outstanding Season

Hawken junior and soccer player Hannah Recht was featured in the Our Family: Wall Full of Trophies section of the Cleveland Jewish News on May 5, 2006. Recht, who plays mid-field forward for the Hawken women`s varsity soccer team, scored 18 goals last season and assisted on 13. She is proud of being named the Chagrin Valley Conference Most Valuable Player after leading her team in the CVC championship game and being named to the First Team All-Greater Cleveland for women`s varsity soccer. According to an interview conducted by the Cleveland Jewish News, Recht \"was drawn to soccer because there are no strict rules. She started kicking balls at age five after watching older brother Brian play.\" She says soccer is \"free flowing and creative.\" She would like to play soccer in college. She is exploring several top East Coast schools where Recht may consider a career in medicine like her parents. Additionally, Recht plays basketball, lacrosse, tutors students in Spanish, and is the sports editor of The AffirmativeNo. She is a member of Hawken`s Cum Laude Society. Read the complete article.
