Two Athletes Make Commitments on Signing Day
Senior athletes Kat Zalar and Mackenzie Lesnick signed college letters of intent on February 5, National Signing Day.
Both girls played for Hawken's state-runner-up soccer team.
Kat Kalar, kicker and first team All-Ohio honoree, will play for the Red Hawks at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Kat was a four-year letter winner and Chagrin Valley Conference MVP who scored 55 goals and made 35 assists while playing for Hawken. During her senior year she had a school-record season of 26 goals and 20 assists.
Mackenzie Lesnick, a four-year starter who played defense for Hawken, will continue her athletic career with the Golden Flashes at Kent State University. During her play for Hawken, Mackenzie tallied 12 goals and 9 assists to help lead the Hawks to a 48-11-18 record. She was a first team all-Chagrin Valley Conference player.
