Hawken presents "Little Shop of Horrors"

\"You better tell your mama somethin`s gonna get her. You better-everybody better-beware.\" That man-eating plant Audrey II will plant its roots at Hawken for the school`s winter musical, \"Little Shop of Horrors,\" on Friday, February 16 and 23 and Saturday, February 17 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Auditorium on Hawken`s Gates Mills campus. \"Little Shop of Horrors,\" by the famed Disney duo of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, is the love story of Seymour and Audrey, two down-on-their-luck workers at Mushnik`s Flower Shop. When the business is on the verge of collapse, Seymour discovers a strange plant that saves the shop. The plant, though, has a terrifying secret. It feeds on a bit more than Miracle Grow. Its sustenance is blood. Hawken`s family-friendly production features freshman Edith Anderson as Audrey, freshman Andrew Johnson as Seymour, freshman Myles Simmons as Mushnik, junior Sam Skove as Orin the Dentist and a special appearance by faculty member Dan Call as the voice of Audrey II. Tickets are $12 for preferred patron seating and $5 for general admission.
