Lower, Middle, Upper students swim among best in region

Four Lower, Middle and Upper School students recently competed in the 2007 Mid-States Quadrangular Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana. The students were selected to represent Ohio because each were top swimmers with the fastest times in their event categories. Two Hawken swimmers were winners in several of their championship events. Fifth-grader Henry Senkfor won all four of his events, which included the 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard butterfly, 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard butterfly. Henry was voted \"swimmer of the meet\" and also placed in the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay. Sophomore Brittany Rospierski placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 400-yard individual medley. In addition to Senkfor and Rospierski, fourth-grader Jonathan Vexler and sixth-grader Liam Oznowich fared well at the competition, placing in each one of their events as well. Jonathan raced in the 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke. Liam raced in the 1650-yard freestyle and the 500 yard freestyle. Top swimmers from Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Ohio participated in this year`s Quadrangular Championships.
