Awards Day and Cum Laude Induction Celebrate Student Accomplishments

Hawken Upper School took time to celebrate the hard work and dedication of its students at the Cum Laude Induction Ceremony on June 1 and Awards Day Program on June 2.
In addition to recognition of the 23 student inductees, the Cum Laude program featured remarks from Head of School Scott Looney and an address by Upper School English/Humanities teacher Dr. Michael A. Ialacci. Click here to view the program and the names of the student inductees.

The annual Awards Day event recognized accomplishments in academics, athletics, arts, leadership and extracurricular activities.

The program culminated with Michael Gerace receiving the prestigious Charles B. Bolton Award. The Bolton Award, first given in 1977, is among the most highly anticipated honors a senior can receive and is bestowed upon a Hawken student who excels in all aspects of education. In so doing, the recipient has truly lived up to the Hawken motto: "That each generation introduce its successor to a higher plane of life." Presenting the award was Shaquira M. Johnson ‘94, President of the Alumni Association.
