Junior Attends Facebook F8 Conference

During spring break, Phillip Hedayatnia '16 attended the Facebook F8 conference held in San Francisco, California.

One of just four high-school students accepted on scholarship, and the only student from the midwest, Phillip was interviewed by PCWorld, had the opportunity to pose questions to the founders of Instagram and WhatsApp in a Q&A session, and was able to meet executives at Facebook.

“Going to F8 and getting to try out this new technology was an incredible experience,” Hedayatnia said. “Even better, I got to meet and discover this new technology with three talented high school students doing awesome things, and I got to learn from them in the process.”

The Facebook F8 is an annual conference intended for developers and entrepreneurs who build products and services around Facebook.  This year, new developments in Facebook Messenger, Oculus Crescent Bay (a virtual reality device), and software capable of learning languages in minutes were unveiled.
