The Will to Prepare
Hawken Wrestling is founded on two abiding principles: preparation and family. Wrestling is a hard sport. We train endless hours of grueling conditioning, drill and repetition, and technique development for a contest that will last six minutes or less. Success in our sport requires large capacities for skill, endurance, and heart. As such, preparation is critical. The will to win is not enough; success requires the will to prepare. We believe that confidence has no greater ally than preparation, and fear no greater enemy. It is hard work, and though wrestling is in many ways an individual sport, we do it together. The bonds built through the shared experiences of training and competition and the love fostered by our coaches lead directly to the manifestation of our wrestling family. We find it difficult to imagine a greater reward than being a part of the Hawken Wrestling family.
