Hawken Football History
Hawken's football history dates back to its earliest days on the Lyndhurst campus. Hawken started playing varsity football in 1964 and had an undefeated 10-0 season in 1965.
The Hawks have had a proud, winning tradition ever since. The News-Herald recently ranked the Hawken football program as #3 in the top 30 all-time best prep school football programs in the area. Hawken football has regularly sent players on to compete at the next level. O.J. McDuffie ’88 was an All-American at Penn State and went on to a standout career with the Miami Dolphins of the NFL.
