Hawks Swimming Heads to States as Favorites; Girls Team Poised for Historic Day

Hawken Boys and Girls  Swimming will compete in the finals at the OHSAA State Championships tomorrow at McKinley High School in Canton. The finals begin at 5:00 pm.

The girls team won the District Championship last Friday at Cleveland State University and have qualified an amazing 16 swimmers to the State Meet. The girls are a heavy favorite to win the State Title, which would be the 20th consecutive State Championship for the program, a milestone unmatched in Ohio high school sports history. The boys team, the defending State Champions, placed 2nd at Districts but based on seed times enters the State Meet as the favorite to repeat. They have qualified 9 swimmers to the State Meet. The boys race for the title will be highly contested, very tight, and very exciting!

What we do know for sure is that the finals will be a thrilling event all around, and a huge moment in the history of our school and Hawken Swimming. We hope you will be a part of it! If you cannot make it, follow us on Twitter @HawkenAthletics. GO HAWKS!!
