Visiting Artist Teams with Lower School Students to Build Machine

Many thanks to freelance artist, sculptor and Hawken parent Ian Petroni for serving as this year’s Lower School visiting artist.
Ian was commissioned by 4th graders to help build a coin operated fortune teller machine. Students were divided into focus groups of engineers, artists, construction workers, makers and innovators, collaborating along the way in an effort to bring this project to fruition.

The machine is now on display in the MAC hallway on the Lyndhurst campus, so be sure to stop by and give it a try! Your fortune awaits you.
