Girls Swim Team Wins 26th State Title; Boys Team Places 2nd
Hawken girls swim team competed at the Division II State Championships in Canton this past weekend, placing 1st to win their 18th consecutive state title, with the boys team landing an impressive second place.
Congratulations to Coach Bocci, Coach Stacy, Coach Neff and all the swimmers on another great season!
Crile Hart ’17 won her third straight title in the 200 IM and finished second in the 100 breaststroke. She also joined Lauren Heller ‘16, Claire Doerr '16 and Heather Svitavsky ’16 for a first place win in the 200 medley and Portia Del Rio Brown ‘18, Claire Doerr, and Lauren Heller for a first place win in the 400 freestyle relay.
Other top-three finishes were second place in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle for Claire Doerr; first place in the 200 freestyle and second in the 100 freestyle for Lauren Heller; third place in the 200 IM for Portia Del Rio; and third place in the 200 free relay for Spencer Crawford '18, Portia Del Rio Brown, Summer Svitavsky '16, and Audrey Dietz '19.
The boys team finished third in the 400 freestyle race, with Sami Fares ’16 finishing third in the breaststroke.
