Michael Coyne
Michael Coyne '22 had one heck of a game against Berkshire last week. He set a Hawken all-time record for made 3 pointers in a game with 11! This accomplishment also has him tied 5th all time in the state of Ohio, sharing the record with the King himself, Lebron James!
Coach Nugent tells us, “At one point in the game Michael made a 3 and I heard someone at the scorer’s table say ‘that’s 7!’…that was during the 3rd quarter but I didn’t think too much about it at the time. He went on the make 4 more 3’s in the next quarter. Four in a game is good. Seven in a game is great. Eleven in a game is incredible! It doesn’t surprise me though because Michael is always in the gym working on his game and getting countless shots up. I am most happy for him because this is something he’ll remember forever. His teammates were very excited for him as well which makes it even more special.”

What does Hawken Athletics mean to me?: From the beginning of my short time here at Hawken my coaches have emphasized teamwork and camaraderie which carries into games and off the court. We know if we fall down we will have four guys to pick us up, and this trust and support will serve us well in the remainder of the season.
