Senior Wins Regional Shakespeare Competition
For the second year in a row, Maria Schreiner '19 took first place in the February 23 Cleveland Shakespeare Competition, an event sponsored by the Cleveland branch of the English-Speaking Union (ESU).
Maria will go on to represent Hawken and Cleveland at the National Shakespeare Competiton, which will be held at Lincoln Center in New York City in April. Bill Kennedy, ESU president and teacher, writes, "I couldn't be prouder and happier to have Maria Schreiner represent Cleveland in the National Competition. I think Maria has every chance to win in New York given the time and energy she has devoted to her presentation. It is hard to imagine anyone doing any better."
