Makayla White has earned the reputation of a fierce competitor during her first season on Varsity Girls Basketball team. In her last game, a dominant win over Beachwood, in just 15 minutes, Makayla had 15 pts, 12 rebounds and 1 steal. Coach David Murray tell us, "Makayla is the type of player whose contributions transcend the box score. She is a consummate competitor who is able to affect the game on both ends of the court. Makayla is an outstanding teammate and leader, and we are blessed to have her in our program." Look for Makayla and the rest of the Hawken Girls Basketball team to put on another show this Saturday at 6:30pm - Home vs Harvey for senior night.

Favorite Athlete you look up to? I look up to Sydney McLaughlin as a track athlete and Candace Parker as a Basketball player.
Favorite Hawken Athletic Memory?
I have many cool Hawken Athletic Memories, but one in particular was winning CVC swimming champs in the middle school after Hawken losing for many years before.
What does Hawken Athletics mean to you?
Hawken Athletics mean a lot to me. Hawken athletics teach not only the skills for your sport but skills for the world. Hawken athletics stress the importance of having fair play and respecting your opponent and the game. I value these morals and try to live by them every day as a student, person, and athlete.
