Upper School Students Present at Annual STEMM Symposium

Hawken Science Research III students took part in the 14th annual Bob Maciunas STEMM Research Symposium earlier this week, presenting their projects before a panel of expert judges, families, and other guests. 
 
Special congratulations go to Pia Cooper '23, who took first place for her project, “Effects of Peripheral Inflammation on Neural Circuitry Involved in Motivation and Mood;” Bea Hardacre '24, who took second place for her project, “Biomimetic Composites with Natural Fiber Reinforced, Recyclable Biobased Benzoxazine Resins;” and Jasmine Shone '23, who took third place for her project, “Systematic Optimization of App Generation Few-Shot Learning for Large Language Models Trained on Code.” These three students will go on to present at the 70th annual Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair (NEOSEF) in March along with Anjali Jawa '24, Zoltan Kotrebai '24, Christopher Riley '24, Carlo Polisena '24, Lillian Fu '23,  Bryan Dong '24,  Augusta Halle '24,  Connor Marrie '24, and Ellen Oberfield '23.
