Senior Wins Dazzle Award for Best Actor
Congratulations to Wilson Ha '21 on receiving Playhouse Square's Dazzle Award for Best Actor for his performance in Hawken's COVID-safe live-stream musical Songs for a New World by Jason Robert Brown.
This year's awards program, held virtually on Tuesday, June 1, featured students representing participating schools performing in virtual choruses of songs from Hairspray and The Wiz. The evening's entertainment also included performances by Wilson and Best Actress Laura Claxton of Wadsworth High School; both winners performed medleys of songs from their roles.
Wilson and Laura will each receive a $1500 college scholarship from Playhouse Square and will also represent Northeast Ohio at The Jimmy Awards®/The National High School Musical Theatre Awards®, which will be streamed on July 15.
