INDEPENDENCE, OH. -- Last Friday and Saturday were busy days for the Hawken wrestling team as the Hawks competed at the 34 team North Coast Classic tournament .
The tournament includes several top local schools, in addition to several Pennsylvania schools. The tournament was held at Independence High School in their field house and was run on 14 mats.  This was the second tournament the wrestling team has competed in with a lot of Hawken wrestlers placing in their respective weight class.

William Lindsey (Junior) finished 3rd place in the 285 lb class. Will won his pool by going undefeated 7-0. This qualified him for the gold bracket where his only loss of the weekend was a 1-0 decision to the eventual champion. "I am, of course, happy to have placed highly but I was aiming to do a little bit better,"Lindsey said. "My goal was to win it but I fell short of that due to my 1-0 loss." He is now 13-1 on the season after winning the HIT last weekend.

Jackin Reineke (Junior) 120 lb class, also won his pool going 5-0 in his pool with five pins. Jackson lost to a pair of state ranked Division 1 wrestlers on his way to finishing 5th. He went 6-2 on the weekend and is 9-2 overall.

Other team members also wrestled well. Patrick Reineke (Freshman) and Alex French (Senior) both went 6-2. Patrick is 9-2 on the year and Alex is 9-3. Christian French (Freshman) had three wins, while Jacob Hlifka (Freshman) had two wins. Andrew Wagenberg (Junior) and Carson Ruch (Freshman) also competed and had wins.

The team heads to Waterloo to wrestle in the D3 Classic Tournament over the upcoming weekend.
