The COVID-19 pandemic requires multiple layers of protection to keep the environment safe. As such, Hawken is approaching our reopening with a layered strategy, where many small interventions are combined, simultaneously. These layers serve as safeguards for the community. When used together consistently, the weakness in any single layer of protection should be offset by the strengths of another layer of intervention. The layers are: masks and face coverings, physical distancing, screening and symptom monitoring, and hygiene protocols for handwashing, cleaning, and disinfecting our facilities.
