Summer provides an outstanding opportunity for students -- they can hone their archery skills, visit the Cleveland
Museum of Art, learn to play a new sport, or improve their academic studies. Hawken offers several summer programs,
including the day camp; sports camp; summer studies program; theater camp, and others.
Summer Studies Program
For students entering grades 6 - 12, Hawken hosts several
morning courses that may be taken for credit, review, preview,

Summer Middle School Preview
The transition into middle school is often challenging for students and their families. This program is designed to prepare students entering grades 6 - 8 make the best of their middle school experience. The program gives students the opportunity to polish essential academic skills, enjoy a highly stimulating and fun learning environment, and build personal connections with fellow students and faculty.
Summer Day Camp
The Hawken Day Camp is a six-week program for boys and girls
ages 4 through grade 5. The camps offer sports, arts and crafts, and many
special opportunities, such as our nature program, swimming

Summer Sports Camp
Each summer, Hawken offers a boys' and a girls' sports camp
for students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8. Sports include baseball,
basketball, bowling, floor hockey, softball, swimming, tennis,
touch football and volleyball. In addition to sports, boys
participate in outdoor adventures, while girls devote afternoons

Summer Service
Two summers ago, Hawken students travelled to Nicaragua with Seeds
of Learning service group to build an addition to a school.
They taught in the learning center and met students from sister
school Las Mesas. For recreation they travelled to the rainforest
and volcanic lake resorts. All the while they worked at learning
the culture and practiced their Spanish. |
