DeMarco was also a Hawken Invitational Tournament Champion.  Jeff Christian '15 was also named 1st Team All-Conference; Jeff and Alex Stotter '14 were District qualifiers.  DeMarco and King were the first wrestlers in school history to break the 40-win mark in a season, and Seth became only the second Hawken wrestler to have 100 victories, joining Jeff Walton from the class of 1999.  King was named a News Herald All Star.

Girls basketball finished their season 16-8, the best season record since 2002. They advanced to the second round of the district tournament, where they lost a very competitive game in a developing rivalry with Cuyahoga Heights. Gabby Zuccaro ’13 was named 1st-Team All-Conference, and earned All-District Honors.

Boys basketball finished 9-14 (9-6 in the conference) with a young team, several key injuries, and a very tough schedule. The future looks bright in boys basketball. The freshman team finished 15-3. Ian Bell ’14 was named 1st-Team All Conference, and earned All-District Honors.

Middle School Winter Athletics

The Middle School swim team had another fantastic season characterized by great work ethics, positive attitudes and superior sportsmanship. The small and mighty team was not intimidated by the many large teams they faced, and the swimmers dropped significant time throughout the season. Middle School swimmers finished the season with their tri-state championship meet where the boys finished 2nd and the girls finished 5th.

The Middle School wrestling team wrapped up another season of tremendous growth and fun. The amount of skill development that each member of the team experienced was truly remarkable. Practices were fun filled and challenging with an impressivenumber of new moves that the team learned each week. The boys were always willing to try new things and relished the opportunities to learn more. The end of the season conference tournament had some of the best individual performances of the year.

The Middle School boys basketball teams had very successful seasons and steady improvement throughout the season. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams practiced very hard and played with intensity in all their games. It seemed that each game a different player would make a big play, score a big basket or make a big steal. The season ended on a high note as each team was playing at their best. Congratulations to Charlie Ross '18, Paddy Nestor '18, Evan Faxon '17 and Grant Kates '17 for being selected to play in the conference all-star game.

The Middle School girls basketball team was small in numbers but big on enthusiasm. The season was a good one as all the players enjoyed plenty of playing time while competing with a close knit group. The team played well despite playing shorthanded on a number of occasions. Congratulations to Julia Aliazzi '18 and Caroline Tatsuoka '17 for being selected to play in the conference all-star game.
