Graduate Wins Cleveland Grand Prix
2010 graduate Jennifer Waxman won the Chagrin Valley Hunter Jumper Classic Cleveland Grand Prix on Sunday, July 12.
A recent graduate of Auburn University in Alabama, Waxman almost didn't participated in the event for lack of practice. But she and her horse, Shakira, competed flawlessly to take home first place in the competition, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
"When I was in school, I didn't ride as much," she says in an interview with cleveland.com. "I wasn't even sure I was gonna show today. But I know her (her horse) so well. If I do my part, she does hers."
Along with winning first place, Waxman said the best part of the event was competiting in front of a home town crowd.
