Next Step: College

Hawken employs 3 college counselors per 110 students, ensuring that each student gets the individual attention needed to find the right college match. Hawken’s comprehensive college counseling program includes classes focusing on the college search and application process for juniors and seniors; free, online test preparation for grades 9-12; free, on-site college essay writing and application workshops; parent meeting opportunities beginning in 10th Grade; and counselor assignments and academic scheduling consultations beginning in 10th Grade. 

Statistics indicate our students’ achievements:
  • More than 57% of the students in the Class of 2014 received merit scholarships totaling over $5.5 million per year. Some scholarships include full tuition, room and board.
  • According to data from U.S. News and World Report, Hawken students are more than twice as likely to be accepted into a top national university or liberal arts college.
  • Hawken alumni overwhelmingly report that they are better prepared for college than their peers.
