PD: Hawken Men's Varsity Soccer is a Team to Watch

If Plain Dealer reporter Pat Galbincea's predictions are correct, the 2008-2009 men's varsity soccer team will make another appearance at the Division III state finals. Galbincea noted that among the teams in the divsion, Hawken will "be hard to beat," and gave nods to senior strikers Jake McKay (one of the area's few true scoring threats, he said) and Dan Wilhelm, senior midfielders Spencer Mischka and Avery Mainardi, senior defender Noah Whitehead and forwards Tom Betsa, sophomore, and Tommy Granot, freshman.
Last year, the team had an impressive run and were the state runner-up and were ranked number three in the state after battling it out in the Division III state championship at Crew Stadium in Columbus.
