Hawken School seeks to admit motivated students with strong
academic potential and diverse talents and backgrounds. We
seek students who are capable of succeeding in the School's
demanding academic program and of making positive contributions
to the School community. Our goal is to establish an appropriate
match between the family and the School while also considering
diversity and gender balance within each class.

Visit Day for Grades 1 - 8
All applicants to Hawken School should plan to spend a day visiting the campus. To
arrange this visit, please call Mrs. Norton, our Admission Assistant, at 440-423-2950.
Parents will meet with the appropriate admission director and tour the school either at
the beginning or end of their child's visit day.
On your visit day, we ask that you arrive at the Admission Office five minutes before
classes begin. Grades 6 - 8 begins at 8:15 a.m.; grades 1 - 5 begin at 8:20 a.m. A
student host will be assigned to be with you during your visit. You will be visiting in your
current grade level and will have the opportunity to meet with various teachers during
the day. These conversations allow us to get to know you personally and give you the
chance to ask questions about Hawken. You will be our guest for lunch. Dress is casual,
but our student dress code does not allow blue jeans or T-shirts. We suggest you wear
or bring a pair of tennis shoes for gym. During the winter, snow pants and boots are
needed in grades 1-5 for recess. We look forward to having you as a guest at Hawken
School. For directions to our Lyndhurst campus, please click here.
